What these games actually practise
Hand strength comes before reward calculations. A rakeback promotion cannot fix weak decisions in a hand.
Five-card draw decisions
The showdown game lets you keep a pair, chase a straight, or replace weak cards. The computer uses a basic holding strategy rather than a trained poker AI. The point is to recognise hand improvements and final rankings, not to model profitable casino play.
A straight beats three of a kind. A flush beats a straight. A full house beats a flush. If both players make the same category, compare the cards that break ties.
Reading a showdown
Hand rank sprint presents two independently generated five-card hands. The game compares categories and kickers, including the ace-low straight. It awards one point for each correct answer and tracks your consecutive correct calls until the page is reloaded.
Neither game collects money, stores an account or uses cash-equivalent chips. They are quick exercises to support the learning material on this site.
